This is my immediate response to the story after just finishing it a few minutes ago. While it was a nice read, the last quarter wastes time on drama that end ups not being that important anyways. Plus, it ends up sidelining many better potential side plots like why the other factions developed the reason behind their beliefs. SPOILERS START!!!!! For example, it is possible for us as reader to guess leads one of the faction beliefs by seeing what happens to lotus who risk being burned to death just to be bring your parent to school day due to developing a strong bond withcontractor. And even after being at the edge of life and just barely surviving due to being built different, Lotus immediately is thinking about after all this pain he still want to be there for their next conference even if it is during the day even though he isn't required to do so. If you look at the burn marks they kinda look like one of the faction leaders scar but due to lotus being special he can gain his original appearance while other vampires are seemingly left scarred.

Since this is about a relationship between a Vampire and a Human naturally the ending will be bittersweet. Even then, I feel like the author just ended the story rather than give a proper conclusion. Most likely it either needed two more page or double the chapters.
