The Girl Who Wants to Be a Hero and the Girl Who Ought to Be a Hero · review
A lighthearted and cute romp with refreshingly honest character relationships. The story makes efficient use of its tropes to get to the original parts of the world and characters. Do read this novel if you enjoy assertive girls who don't act coy or shy about their love for a single heartbeat. In a setting one generation after the heroes vanquished the demon lord, and the primary conflict rises from challenges of meeting the expectations set by parents. The antagonist role is not particularly deep, but is sufficient as a catalyst for the protagonists, as this truly isn't a story about explorations of deep angst. There are undercurrents andsetup for a greater conflict in future stories with the core game-ifying objects named "Gear"
