I'm not familiar with the video games or other media this OVA is based on, but even so I found it really enjoyable and easy to follow! Definitely moves at a break-neck pace, and it can feel like only a glimpse of the broader franchise, but because the plot is simple it never becomes confusing or obnoxious, just fun. That's the key word for this OVA, just pure mech 90s cute girl anime fun! Because it's an OVA, the animation was very solid and all the character designs were especially beautiful. Soundtrack is fun, again very 90s. The OP is great, really dorky and catchy, theED is cute but just fine. My only complaint would be that there isn't a ton of action which is kind of disappointing with how great the suit and robot designs are, but again because so much is going on every moment and every character is so fun to watch, I didn't mind that much.

Great way to spend an afternoon, especially for 90s comedy anime lovers!
