In short, if you like "Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei / The Irregular at Magic High School" you will like this as well. It is pretty much required to first watch that, the main show, before starting this. This is more backstory and details regarding that main story, mostly from Miyuki's perspective. The story starts at the same point as the main show, joining the magic school, and goes all the way through the competition between schools. It jumps around a lot though. This is why watching the main show first is pretty much mandatory. The art and VA is the same as the main show I'dsay which is good, because that avoids confusion and they were great there anyways.

There is a bit too much focus on the brother/sister love thing here, more than in the main show. Some conversations are also slightly different than in the main show. Maybe that is because this is from Miyuki's perspective. This is how she remembers it so to say.

Overall it's very good, but there is still room for improvement. And I can't wait to see how the 3rd season from the main show turn out.
