Review of A Whisker Away
This was a really enjoyable movie. The characters are charming, the background art is really really good and the story as a whole is fun and enjoyable. I felt, however, that it failed to really flesh out and develop the characters. Miyo and Hinedone don't really have their difficulties elaborated on, Miyo especially. Everything is too vague. From the situations the characters find themselves in to how they develop to the magical cats. I would've appreciated the story more if the inter-character relationships were developed, especially those closest to Miyo. She is a really interesting character whose backstory could've really made some tear-jerking scenes, butit isn't utilized as such.
While not a bad movie by any means, the pacing and underdevelopment prevent this movie from truly standing out.
