It began really good and my top pick for anime of the season. Somewhere towards the middle of the series, I guess budget and time became an issue for the producing studio. The story was compacted and the plot started moving a lot faster, often at the expense of the story remaining cohesive. I won't spoil the ending but what could or should have been a multi-season epic story was turned into a short drama that made little sense at the end unless you buy into the incredulous turn of events. I started off giving it an 8 but dropped it to a 7 at the end becausethe conclusion was iffy.
