Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

9 stars how? I had seen this on the top anime list and it grabbed my attention, it has been a while since I watched a decent anime with an actual good plot, good image and character depth so I jumped in and started watching it. The first 8 episodes got me wondering if it was a very slow burner that was going to explode into a great anime, then on episode 9 I thought "That's it! It is a slow burner!" but unfortunately by episode 10 I realised I was wrong, it wasn't a slow burner it really just didn't have much to give. I finishedthe last episode feeling like a victim, I had been deceived into thinking this was actually good but as it turned out it was just fine. I mean, it's not very awful, it just isn't very good.
