Review of Amnesia

As is the problem with most otome game based anime, the protagonist has little to no strong personality traits in order to allow for a harmonious relationship with all kinds of people with all kinds of personalities. Keeping this in mind, I think Amnesia was made extremely well. There is a legitimate and believable reason for the protagonist's personality which, as you probably guessed, is that she has amnesia. It makes it much easier to understand the world and the characters because the viewer and the protagonist are both trying to understand what in the world is going on while trying to get to knowthe characters and the setting.

The story I think is pretty decent and there was a good bit of thriller and mystery. It was pretty well paced and fit the atmosphere of the show itself.

Art was outstanding though I do think it has to do with preference. While I really liked the characters' eyes and fashion, I don't think everyone is of the same opinion. Regardless, I do think we can agree that the art was well done and the motions were fluid.

Sound was very good and the OP and ED fit the anime well. As is a popular marketing tactic, Amnesia has some nice character songs that you may want to check out.

Characters were unique compared to each other but cliche if you look at the genre as a whole. You got tsundere, flirt, yandere (two actually) and a stuck up smartass. While this doesn't sound good, each of the characters do have a certain amount of depth which I think is appropriate considering both the duration of the anime and what it was based off of.

As a side note, I highly recommend picking up the game. After watching the anime I became curious and so decided to give the game a try. It allows for a much more in depth understanding of the characters so if you want more background, I recommend the game.

Overall I enjoyed the series and I think it is one of the most well made reverse harem anime based off of a game thanks to its original concept. It blended in the bland and boring protagonist with its story fluidly, which I think is very impressive considering that has always been one of the weak points for most, if not all anime of the same genre.
