Review of Big Order (TV)
My review summed up in one sentence: Big Order had a lot of Big Potential that went to waste. Here is why: The idea was brilliant and original. Super natural abilities were given to those with one true wish that they desired. Those that desired wealth were deemed shallow, those that desired immortality deemed fearful, those that desired an all too common wish deemed unoriginal. Only those with true desires and wished got the ability to do them. < This here my friends is a great plot and a great idea. BUT, the execution of this brilliant idea was lackluster at most. The main character lacked convictionup till the final minute where he was spurred on by a girl that loved him yet forced him to man up for his love of his sister. (Ugh I hate it when a girl loves a guy but has to convince him to chase his love for another, EVEN WORSE he needed her help to accomplish it)
The music was absolutely Mediocre at best with music that I wouldn't even have as background music under any circumstance.
There was no backstory established for the other 10 supporting cast, they were just given abilities without any feelings to it. Just *poof* have some super powers and a halfhearted reason.
There were plot holes so far and many that it was almost impossible to ignore and just accept them. The anime was just shoving facts down my throat and hoping that I would be ok with it.
The ending to the anime was horrendous to say the least. The massive plot hole with the underwhelming as hell conclusion. THE GUY'S ULTIMATE WISH AND DESIRE CAME TRUE AND HE BECAME A FISH ABOUT IT. HE WASN'T HAPPY, HE WASN'T CONTENT, HE WAS EMOTIONLESS LIKE A GOD DAMN FISH.
However, the anime did have some good points.
The characters went directions that weren't absolute cliches, like the sister becoming a badass. The bad guys were good guys but is willing to give up anything to make their dreams come true (looking at you lieutenant)
It was action packed without much boring moments, no fillers or empty episodes ... although that comes with the 10 episodes limitation.
All in all I did enjoy it, it had the potential to be a master piece, but it failed to do so.
Therefore I rate it a solid 6.8/10
