Why is it that a pink-haired psychic version of captain Levi is so appealing? I don't know, but it is. Saiki K is a riot. For someone who's main experience with anime comedy is bad slapstick and cliché rom-com gimmicks, Saiki K was like a refreshing glass of lemonade after a day of drinking only lukewarm water. Saiki K does a fantastic job with comedy and making fun of tropes in the genre of anime, so let's cut to the chase and talk about why it's so great. Saiki K has a pretty simple premise. There's a guy who has psychic powers but he just wants tolive a normal life and eat coffee jelly. However, Saiki K manages to milk this concept for everything that it's worth and the result is awesome. The comedy on this one is really solid and the way they make fun of other genres and the occasional meta-ness of certain characters makes for a really good story. The art isn't too bad. The OPs and EDs are good for the most part too. The highlights though are the great voice acting of Captain Levi and Okabe Rintarou knock-off (Saiki and Kaidou), and that super catchy them that starts playing whenever Kaidou starts going into an epic monologue. Speaking of Kaidou, can I just mention how funny he is? Not only him, but all the characters are unique and have their own fun personalities that make for some really entertaining moments. Saiki's constant "Yare yare"s and Nendo's stupidity and Hairo's hotness (you'll understand if you watch it) all add so much flavor to this anime. This was an incredibly entertaining anime and I really enjoyed it.

There aren't really any flaws per se. The story doesn't really have continuity, which is fine for a comedy but it still would have been appreciated. The animation/character design and soundtrack are nothing special and Yumehara's voice can get annoying (although I think that that's part of the appeal?).

However, Saiki K is still so much fun to watch. I would like to see it a bit higher up for best anime (it would be nice to have a comedy other than Gintama in the top one hundred) and I am shocked that this is past #200 for most popular. More people need to watch this! If they did, I'm sure it would benefit the overall score more than it would harm it. I highly recommend it and I hope you guys enjoy how wack and funny it is. Btw, don't be intimidated by the episode count. Look at the duration of the episodes. Netflix mashes five into one for the first season if you watch it on there ;)

Yare Yare, looks like I need to go do cleaning. Guess I better get going. Goodbye. Don't follow me unless it's to bring me coffee jelly.
