Review of The Ancient Magus' Bride

Honestly, I only watched this in Dec 2020, 2 years after reading its manga, so I may be watching with some rose-tipped glasses. With that out of the way, this is a stellar show, I am suppressed more people don't talk about it because it feels like it had the same production level as say Sword art online, but it actually used it well. I watched the Dub of it, which was amazing, if I had to change any voice actor it would have been the one used for the fay queen, but even then I think there all perfect. Elijia voice actor gives lifeto the half monstrosity perfectly displaying the emotions he feels even if he doesn't know it. Chise voice actor makes her sound a bit older then she is which is perfect as Chise character has had to grow up early, and these are just a few examples. The art in this show is also perfect, you could take literally any frame out and it could be used as a background. Unfortunately I am not great at descripting art, so I will leave it at its great, with each picture holding a thousand words. But the MUSIC, yes the music, oh my gosh whoever the singer is should get a Oscar and more attention. My favorite song of them all is ep 1-12 OP "Here" by JUNNA, and its not just the OP and ED, all the music, the background music, sound effects and music used to speed tempo are done flawlessly. When something is happening or will you will know it just by the music, and it doesn't even detract from the show. Such as in the fey, where they will use older and natural instruments like flutes, harp and more, with mixing in sound effects such as running through the dead leaves flawlessly. In conclusion, this show is truly a feast for the senses. Genuinely a 10 out of 10.
