First and foremost, I didn't want to read this chapter because it was released after the anime adaptation, and I figured it wouldn't be worth it. But that is not true; it is definitely worth your time, and I am glad I changed my mind. This brief but unique story is about Yaeko Nishimiya (Shouko's mother) and how she developed, aided Shoka, and overcame numerous challenges over time. I enjoy how Ooima Yoshitoki can convey numerous characters' emotions with a small amount of words. Overall, this special manga is a must-read if you like the Koe no Katachi series. Itfeatures beautiful visuals, an emotional plot, and good character design, for which I award it a 10/10.
