Tashiro-kun, Why're You Like This? · review
Criminally underrated. Highly recommended for fans of Sasaki & Miyano; both give similar wholesome vibes. I haven't laughed out loud so hard as I did reading this in MONTHS; it really helped to cheer me up when I was feeling down. The story features a slow-burn romance that is super sweet and wholesome. The comedy is hilarious, almost every page is utter gold, with how the characters' expressions are exaggerated. But then the BL scenes come on and you realise the mangaka's art skill is GOOD. The art style fits exactly as the mood - funny scenes are drawn in a funny way, romantic scenes areromantic! There are also nuggets of deep contemplation here and there - which gives a peek into how smart the mangaka is, despite the easy comedy. Overall, the manga so far is light-hearted but perceptive. I'm really shocked it's not more well-known.
The series is still on-going right now, so will be keeping an eye on updates. But in the meantime, I'll be reading everything else the mangaka has ever published!
