You don't judge a book by it's portrait... you do when you read the whole damn thing. It's like saying Zarathustra is garbage just because "what good thing can say an old grumpy and misanthrop man?"... Duh! This is not a tale of how a person conquered their fears This is not a story of someone who traveld through time to save her beloved one This is not a fairy tale of how a person became a master of the universe This is not a fable full of boobs, ecchi and tons of fan service.This is a Sci Fi story that is being told not in a way that we empathize with the characters but to see how the world develops according to strange times.
