The Princess and the Boss · review
Man, what a whacky story this is. I have lost for words how I ended up reading this entire series. How did I find this? It was exclusive to the Webtoon English server, and I just found it while searching for another series. Appealing (Why did I get into the Webtoon/Manhwa?) The character design. It was reminding me of another series from Webtoon Indonesia called "Kecoa dan Dendam". I remember that I laughed my ass off looking at the art and thought, "Why not?"Platform
Naver Webtoon
And of course, Webtoon Internasional, specifically the English server.
The review;
Story/plot
Reverse isekai!
A princess transferred into the Korean modern day and met with the boss of all bosses.
From there, the story just spirals into a wacky story of Ariana, the princess, trying to find the true meaning of love, and Juyeong, the boss, trying to find his happiness.
I have to say this: what the fuck was that plot, man? 🤣
I felt like I was riding a rollercoaster into a lucid dream. I still don't have many words to express what I just read. It was great, but... I have no idea what I should even complaint, man. It's a fun read, but I don't even get why it was fun. All I did when I was reading was laughing, that's it! Even in a serious moment. 🤣

Get this!
I love the art so much that I laughed my ass off because this author doesn't care.
What do I mean by that?
Just saw one panel and talked to me straight, what do the outsider characters look like?
Yes! It was just a grey blob.
Not only that, most of the time, the characters that have form are also drawn in such a way that it felt like the author was making fun of the characters they made. It was the same treatment that the "Kecoa dan Dendam" Webtoon's author did to their characters; they have something against their Webtoon Characters and it made me laugh. It was the best experience I had reading Webtoon, ngl.
Characters
Wacky, and the MC's interaction with side characters and others was just *chef's kiss* weirdly fun.
Proportions of the manga
Now this!
I usually don't have any complaints or nitpicks when it comes to Webtoon in this segment, but I have to mention this.
I don't like that most of the time when I read this Webtoon, I don't see any background. I swear to goodness, it was rarer than a good horror Webtoon. I might be the only one that complaint about this, but I genuinely hate that most of the time the background was just blank or a simple wall/floor.
I had the same complaint in "Kecoa dan Dendam", but the author actually answered my complaint by roasting me.
He said, "Of course, there aren't many backgrounds. What did you expect from a cockroach POV? They are small, and the only thing that they see is grass!"
And I was like, "Ok, you got me. 😂"
Here, though, I don't think that same roast could be used against me. I'm just curious, why does the author not make a background very often? Was it because they can't or they just don't care? Or is it because the story was mostly comedy? I'm curious.
The conclusion;
The good
Thanks for the laugh. I appreciate it.
The bad
Might be one of the worst Webtoons to laugh at, especially on the comedy part. I almost choked a couple of times because the humor just hit me hard.
Gratitude
Thanks for translating this Webtoon, Webtoon team. I appreciate it.
Overall 6.3/10
This is one of those stories that you either love or hate, and there is no in between. Well, I'm one of those "In between", but you get my point, I just can tell that this is one of those stories. So, I don't know if I would recommend it to people or not.
