Okasubekarazu!! Junketsu Tokku! · review
tl;dr: A story that is mostly comedy in a ridiculous setting but still has a pretty solid story. The setting and set up for this I thought was immensely interesting and amusing, in that it sets up a ridiculous premise that I expected would only be used for comedy and fanservice purposes, but manages to have a reasonably solid story too. The main characters were interesting and likable as was the relationship set up they had, but the character development only felt okay, wherein there were definitely some strong moments when that was the focus, which to be honest is more than I expected, but overall it feltsomewhat lacking as it wasn't focused on that much. In terms of plot, I also thought that surprisingly ultimately it was pretty solid, but it was somewhat slow for most of the manga and then the ending rushed everything, which also led to an ending that felt only okay in that it resolved the plot to a satisfactory degree, but didn't really have enough time to do much regarding the character set up beyond hinting at what would happen in the future. The manga relied heavily on its comedy as expected and from that point of view I thought it did quite well. A lot of the comedy especially early on is centered around how controlling the female cast is, which is usually something that annoys me tremendously, but in the context of everything I was okay with it and I found it really amusing. The art was incredibly good and used very well with great character designs.
