Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

From what I can tell it seems like reception of this series is mixed, at least on MyAnimeList where there’s currently 2 positive reviews, 2 mixed reviews, and 2 negative reviews. Unfoetunately I’m gonna have to add mine to the mixed category. I think this series is fine, but not great. If you just see it as a popcorn anime then it’s surfacable enough I guess, although even in that category there’s far better. But if you want to get anything deeper out of it you’ll be incredibly disappointed, and what makes it worse is that it could have been.Episode 1 was...well, no masterpiece for sure, but it was interesting. I’ve heard some people compare this to K Pop Demon Hunter sand Symphogear. I haven’t seen either of them. But what hooked me in the first episode is that we got a main character who’s passionate about dancing and the music that he’ll be dancing too. It sets it apart from other male idol anime by giving us an MC with genuine personality and passion. He’s so passionate that he even dances out in the open on the sidewalk in front of people, which is something that I know would be looked down upon in Japan. But after the first episode it just kind of becomes a fine action show with admittingly some appealing animation. None of the characters are unlikable per se, and I don’t think that’s necessarily a good thing, because that keeps it from having a challenging edge and prevents it from rising above the description that I gave it at the start of this review, a popcorn anime. And it’s not even the best at that. There are entertaining interactions between the various characters here and there, but there’s nothing for me to really say about it other than that.
