I'm Glad They Kicked Me from the Hero's Party... But Why're You Following Me, Great Saintess? · review
The poorest written story I have ever read. The main character is kind seemingly to a fault and somewhat condescendingly views everyone around him regardless of age like they were his own child. That would be fine by itself but combined with an incredibly generic series of happenings, the most tropal characters ever, and the fact he seemingly is not capable of distinguishing between friend and foe makes the story somewhat of a chore to read. I more than most people enjoy braindead repetitive stories however this genuinely had me reconsidering that. It also suffers from the all to common flaw of introducing new powerswhenever its convenient to such an extent I have literally never seen before. Not to spoil anything but imagine a supports stat buff suddenly giving you the SKILL to amaze some of the strongest people in the world when you yourself are a D ranked adventurer. But even after all of what I have just said if you still think this might be something you would like I suppose I can provide the few positives it did have. Them being as follows.
- VERY GOOD ART
- The harem aspect was actually rather well written
- A lot of lolis (and all of them cute)
- MC not needlessly edgy or particularly annoying
My final thoughts as someone who has read 48 chapters are, please do not give this the time of day. I love advocating in favor of conventionally bad stories / shows but I find this genuinely hard to defend. The writer seemed not to give two shits but the artist was clearly putting a lot of effort forward I feel genuinely bad for him as his efforts led to the only few decent moments of this manga.
