Review of Midnight Occult Civil Servants

This series wasn't bad, but it also wasn't great either. I think the problem I had with it the most was that the humans and paranormal were not able to communicate (via voice) with each other until finally the MC of the story comes along who has the DNA of another human that was able to communicate with the paranormal in the past. But what I consider to be a serious blunder for the author of the story is after all the time the paranormal had to deal with the humans none of the paranormal bother to learn how to read and write, and whensign language was developed the humans didn't bother try to teach the paranormal so both sides could communicate. Instead both sides would try to read body language and facial expressions. It was a gross negligence of the author and for me a huge reason why I felt the series was just 'meh'. This could have been a really good series both sides were able to communicate with each other, and it would have allowed for a deeper understanding of the paranormal entities the MC came into contact with. If you are not into paranormal skip, and if you are and have nothing else to watch then I would recommend this series.
