Review of Devilman: Crybaby

Personally, I enjoyed this anime but I think that's only because I watched the live-action film first. Unless you've seen the movie or have read the manga I don't think most people would enjoy this series as the story and style of the anime plus the sexual content may be a bit much. As for me, I think the original story is quite unique and doesn't feel like other supernatural demon anime's which is why I've watched the anime and film. *UPCOMING FILM COMPARISON/ SPOILER* As for the comparison between this anime and the movie, the main points were similar but everything else was different. Forexample, Ryo being Satan, Akira being Amon, Akira being in love with Miki (and living with her family), Akira fighting demons and screaming about how he is Devilman every battle and both the anime's and movie's endings were all the same but details about the supporting characters and some events were either changed or something new was completely added. Personally, I prefer the anime over the film but I think watching the film first and then watching the anime is a nice pairing.

As for the comparison to the manga, I'm not sure how similar it is since I have not read it but I'd imagine it would be different as well, similar to how different it was from the movie which in itself is already different from the manga.
