I think this season was definitely less exciting than the first season. The characters all seem fairly shallow. There are moments where the characters do show some depth, but these moments are few and far between. The only character that we as the audience can truly understand is the protagonist, and the rest of the characters are simply plot material it felt like. I really enjoyed the action scenes, as well as the mystery added to the plot this season. Although I feel that this anime is trying to do too many things at once, and not doing anything exceptionally. The result is a goodseason, but there is still far left to improve.
