Cinderella Chef 2nd Season · review
TL;DR Others may like this, but ultimately the protagonist's utter stupidity at every turn (and lack of chemistry with the love interest) proved too much. I wanted to like this. The premise was promising enough. This isn't even my first modern-food-loving-girl-isekaied-into-ancient-China rodeo. As annoyingly obtuse as Miaka Yuki could be, she still had chemistry with the main cast and primary love interest. I can buy a little Oh No He's Hot, but when the man explicitly threatened to kill the protag less than a minute apart, it began to stretch my tolerance to the limit. There were times where I couldn't tell if theanimation was janky or just oddly stylized. I may get flak for this next bit, however there's this odd stink of government censorship/interference wafting over it that I can't quite place. Perhaps I simply don't have enough experience with Chinese media, so YMMV.
