Reki and Yomi · review
The artwork is definitely a highlight of this author's work. Almost every page is filled with exaggerated detail, especially the depiction of facial expressions, which is truly exquisite, capturing a wide variety of expressions with remarkable vividness. The lighting is also excellent, with particularly striking highlights in the characters' hair. Furthermore, the author's eyes are incredibly beautifully drawn. As for the plot, the author seems to have gone a bit too far in some parts, but it's still quite entertaining as a slice-of-life comedy. Many unexpected and absurd plot points truly showcase the author's amazing imagination. Moreover, the characters' personalities are often vividly portrayed through justa few simple scenes, thanks to the author's powerful artwork; many characters are both funny and charming.
By the way,the author also has other interesting works; please be sure to check them out if you're interested in Shibata Kouhei's works but u don't want to read Reki Yomi. (and I recommend the short story collection "Nnekon" to start)
