This is a manhwa about an unremarkable 16-year-old kid dying, and finding out that his soul was actually the water spirit king, the being that rules over all water spirits that exist. Spirit kings reside in a plane of existence reserved for them, they live for 10000 years and after that become gods. They occasionally get summoned to human realm but unless someone powerful enough to summon them appear (which apparently never happened for the previous water spirit king), all they do is chill at their own realm. The premise is certainly interesting. Basically isekai but you are some sort of powerful being. Wouldn't exactlycall it original but good enough to differentiate from others in this genre. But unfortunately, setting is all this manhwa has got going for it.

I honestly wished that i was reading this in a physical medium, since that is the only way for me to piss on this without ruining my electronics. I got so angry reading this, that I legitimately got a headache. I am pretty sure my blood pressure rose above acceptable levels.
Even though I am pretty pissed right now , I still want to write a comprehensive review, so that you can understand the shittiness of this manhwa in its totality.

ART:
Artists are never stagnant, they always evolve and mostly improve. I have read many manhwa and mangas that start out with sketch like art styles that evolve into artistic masterpieces that are coveted in the community as one of the bests as far as this medium goes. While reading those works, I was at times quick to pass judgment and drop them early on, and regret later on.

At first, art was definitely the biggest weak point of the manhwa. It was way too simple and, frankly, lazy. It felt flat and lifeless, boring and generic. The low budget mass produce manhwa special, white backgrounds with unremarkable character designs. But as the series progressed, art caught up with the series average quality. Did the art improve? No. Manhwa did got worse though, so technically it caught up.

***Spoilers***

CHARACTERS:
Recall the last time you used an AI chatbot. Many times while using, you ask this program that has all the know human knowledge that ever existed, that has been able to pass PhD exams in all the scientific fields; but when you ask it to do something simple it loses it shit and gives you something totally unrelated to what you asked. Recall the anger that comes into existence when this fuckwit wastes your time, knowing fully well that this shitbox has access to more resource than entire human civilization from 2000 to 10000 BC. Now replace the shitbox with the MC and your request with a logical decision that wouldnt potentially endanger your party. This fucker was abused by his family for all his existence, you would think his character would have some substance, some gritty aspect any kind of spice, ANY.
NOTHING!!! NOT A FUCKING SPECK OF IT. Had I been a parent to a kid like this, I would have to buy a new belt every week.

Every other cast member are just boring. Nothing of value to make me remember them.

STORY:
unserious. Gets summoned by kid emperor that is on the run. somehow, kid summons this spirit that even thousand year old dragons couldn't manage. whatever. They go onto this journey to safety and rising back to throne. again good premise, bad execution. While the story is very serious tonewise, the way the characters act, mostly the mc, and the horrible art direction makes it hard to take it serious. When I see this fucker reveal his identity to every dude he met within two hours, I can't take the stakes seriously. Every supposed antagonistic person they go against are suddenly very chill and peaceful. An assassin straight up approaches him in his sleep but instead of killing him, he tries joining him cause he is just chill like that. I wouldnt have a problem with these, if the setting wasnt what it was. The way it is, it is neither funny nor interesting. It doesnt benefit from being lighthearted as it reiterates the seriousness of the situation a couple of times. As said before, horrid art direction is the last nail on the coffin.

It could have been interesting. Seeing someone who is from our world, especially a kid, adjust to his new circumstances, getting used to living longer than those around him, being a creature that is fundamentally different from what he was and eventually maturing. This possibility is the only reason I will keep reading.

Is this for you? At the end of the day, I cant say. While, yes, my review is very negative, but when reading comments in some sites, there were no mention of the many plot holes i didnt even mentioned or the boring art style. I wouldnt recommend this unless you are truly starved for something new. And who knows, maybe it gets better?..
