The last movie went crazy with the supernatural premise. There was a bunch of time-traveling, dreamverses and life altering emotional beats. This movie is just: girl decides what school to go to. Like, there was no supernatural plot at all, they just took away the premise. But because these characters are so charming and fun, and because they focused on the emotion instead of fantastical happenstance, it evens out. Sakuta is one of my favorite characters of all time and his chemistry with Mai and literally everyone else is off the charts. I do wish they gave Futaba, Tomoe and Kunimi more to do though.
