Before I watched this anime, someone spoiled the ending for me on Twitter. Despite that, I watched it regardless, expecting to be another anime that I've seen copy and pasted 1000 times before. However, throughout the story I realized I started to care about pretty much every character in the show. I started realizing the story in this show, while simple, had me invested as much as I was in Your Lie in April. Then I realized as the show went on, I started to dread clicking next on each episode, knowing full well knowing what was going to happen. And then it hit melike a goddamn semi-truck.

Ok, story. It was pretty great. Excellent world building. Demon faction turned out more interesting than I expected.

Art. If sex and graphic violence and gore turn you off, I wouldn't recommend this. However, the art style is very unique. When I first watched this, this seemed like a show that would premiere on Adult Swim. Animation is fluid and doesn't rely on still frames for the action.

Sound. Very few but very memorable songs in this soundtrack. From a synth heavy track you'd hear on Tokyo Drift to an epic classical song you'd hear in Berserk, the songs, although few in number, are extremely diverse. The song Crybaby is guaranteed to bring back memories after watching this a couple times.

Characters. I can say without a shadow of a doubt if these characters weren't as good as they are, the entire show would've been less interesting in the long run. Diverse arcs across the board. Standouts include Ryo, Akira, and Miki.

Enjoyment. I really enjoyed this show. Been a while since I got such a reaction to a show since Your Lie in April.

Overall. This show is not for the faint of heart. If you can't handle the grimness of the story here, I'd say look elsewhere. But besides that, I'd say this is a must watch to people that are into more mature anime. 9/10
