The ova fails both in storytelling and characterization. I liked how the first episode was set up, and how the ova gave us more background info on Isabel and Farlan, which was fine for the most part but it ended up cutting out a lot of the important scenes in favor of having more scenes with Levi in it. The ova also painted Erwin as a total asshole and made him seem like he wasn't all that interested in Levi (or in anyone really) when the literal main plot of no regrets is about his and Levi's relationship! It made me feel very lukewarm about thestory and characters as a whole.
It wasn't horrible, and I loved the fight scene with Levi and the titans at the end, but it didn't live up to my expectations of it.
