Looking for an anime to get into, I randomly chose this one. Why? Not joking, it was the first option on Amazon Prime's "Anime" category. I knew nothing about the series, so this was a nice surprise. Here's the review. Story: Almost perfect. A couple of times, I thought things were going to go in another direction (or just a better explanation), but honestly, the pacing, storytelling, and twists and turns through the anime were very good and kept me on my toes. But a very good, mature story. Art: I'm going with an 8, only because the art was consistently high, except for like 3 randomass episodes about 75% of the way through. It got super blotchy for 2 episodes and then went back to normal.

Sound: Great. Honestly, everything was mixed right, the highs weren't too high, and lows not needing to adjust volumes. The soundtrack could have used a bit of work but it's essentially feudal era japan so I'm not expecting hard rock lol. Perhaps a more memorable theme (think Inu-Yasha's theme).

Character: Characters weren't oversimplified, they had depth, and weren't lovely complicated either. They felt like real human beings with human emotions and not "anime" emotions. It's honestly a bit of a breath of fresh air in the anime world.

Enjoyment and Overall: We crushed 4 episodes a night. This is the first anime where I began to get genuinely worried for characters and cared what happened to them. It was just great storytelling and flowed very well. Nothing felt rushed, I didn't have to rewind to remind myself about things or have to really think about certain things being explained... it was just a well-done story. I definitely recommend you check it out.
