This is still one of the best Dragon Ball films. Just by virtue of not being made mostly as promotion for the anime and just as an actual movie it's such a big step up from the old Z movies. The bigger runtime allows for a lot more fun slice-of-life stuff which is some of the best moments in the movie. The art style has kind of a sterile look I don't love for Dragon Ball, though it is much worse in Super. But the animation is still pretty great and the final battle is real good (even with some shoddy experimentation with 3D thatdoesn't pay off lol). Great, super fun Dragon Ball goodness.

Also… just as a side-note for the series in general, not just this movie. You guys HAVE to drop the Trunks and Mai thing, it's DIRE. It's a fun gag at first, but it feels like they just started taking it seriously and it ONLY gets worse from here. STOP!!!
