Review of Astra Lost in Space

This show could have been a master piece, but instead just turned out well. In the first episode it makes the promise of "stranded far from home in extremely dangerous outer-space", and repeats that promise - but never follows up on it with an appropriate sense of despair. It has great animation quality, great sound quality, interesting environments, great premise, fleshed out characters, a great character dynamic, but simply falls into the trap like many other anime to give a feel-good ending - and show no reprecussions, ultimately invalidating the incredibly harsh environment it builds as the story goes on, and the death and despairthe characters see happening all around them is never fully realized in the story.
