Review of Steins;Gate 0

Preface: It is very important to watch the original Steins;Gate first. There are spoilers here that would ruin the original. The amazing characters, music, and theming from the original are still there in Zero. The new characters I felt were strong overall, and definitely bring out new sides of the old characters. The story is still very intriguing overall, even though it was rough in some of the plot devices used to deliver it, especially in the rising action. I found it to be a worthy successor, but not as satisfying. Zero's darker tone makes it not exactly enjoyable to watch, witha well-crafted air of anxiety that is a little too contagious for my taste. Overall, fans of the original should find it to be a worthwhile journey, but if you weren't sold on the original then I think it unlikely that you will like this adaptation.

How to Watch: This is very story driven. I can't say it's a terrible idea to skip to the end if you feel you want to, but expect a lot of "Who's this" and "What's going on?" if you do. One notable exception is Episode 15, which is mostly detached from the main plot and worth a watch IMO.
