Review of My Hero Academia Season 6
My Hero has been on quite a minor decline with its overall quality, the animation has been inconsistent for the past 2 seasons and the story was moving forward so slow that I could've caught up with One Piece by now but thankfully the show is finally getting serious and the stakes are at an all time high. The heroes are fully prepared to crack down on the League of Villains and its allies once and for all, devising a plan that would have them cornered and on the backfoot but things don't go quite as planned, leaving nothing but destruction and disarray as wellas pushing the heroes to their limits.
So many characters were shown off this season from reappearing favorites to some new faces, our favorite Class A heroes though are once again shuffled to the side as other characters outshine them with there only being a few moments they're given the chance to actually do something. It's also not until late in the season where Deku finally starts to really embrace his role as "that guy" becoming a vigilante type hero but sadly we don't get to see that side for too long.
The animation has been better but it still hasn't captured the magic I'd seen from the earlier seasons. Sound team did a great job as always though and the voice acting was on point too, the music wasn't too bad either but nothing really memorable for me. Now another gripe I had with this season is the pacing of the story especially the Vigilante Deku part, I felt they could've slowed down here but sadly it felt rushed, fights happened so quick and even the big fights were underwhelming - as much I love the story being pushed forward, I feel everything is being rushed with the action. Overall a decent season but I'm still waiting for My Hero to completely return to form and hopefully nail the final season.
+ Story Progression
- Short Vigilante Arc
- Not Enough Class A Action
