Review of Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro
So first of all trigger warning, if you dont wanna get triggered dont read it and take a chill pill the size of a mountain. SO i love this anime, while not a masterpiece, its definetly something people should watch if they have time to burn. the story isnt complicated (like aot) or trash, the characters are memorable but not too complicated and the soundtrack is a fucking banger. NOW let me start the review Story Boy meets girl (or more preferably girl confronts boy) and teases him but also likes him. boy develops conversation skills and more confidence bcs of girl and also kind of sorta doeslike her. they go on with their day to day life in school or other places with girls friends until the boss (should i say boss? she's like the leader of the club so...?) threatens to shut down the club boy is in after girl and her friends trash the place. but girl defends boy, the boss says that if they dont win in a competition she will shut it down but if they do win it she wont. after she was disqualified after one of her paintings was too "revealing" boy was allowed to keep the club. and some time in the timeline girl kisses boy on the cheek.
And thats the entire story. well atleast most of the story but fuck it

characters
nagatoro aka girl is basically a kind of bully (not really a bully but whatever) but also helps senpai aka boy with shit like conversations how to make friends exercise that shit y'know? while it is obvious that she has a crush on him and teases him about it she also has bittersweet moments like when she went too far after accidentally and i mean it accidentally turns on her facetime when she was in the bath after calling him to tease him about it (he gets easily flustered). another case was when she thought that the president of the club was going to model for his painting and was generally upset with him but reconciled after she pulled him into the water after she accidentally almost fell in (but still fell in) and when she kissed him (tbh when she kissed him at the end of the series it was so satisfying and bittersweet) .
senpai on the other hand is a social outcast who loves to paint and saw nagatoro as the popu;ar girl who always talks with friends (during the earlier episodes) but eventually warmed up to her. before meeting her he would generally get bullied by others and would "forget the faces of the bullies as a defense mechanism" or something like that. after meeting nagatoro he gained more self confidence, conversation skills and how to defend himself (kind of).
gamo-chan (i think thats her name) is one of nagatoro's friends/rival she is more of a side character tho and tends to always be with yoshi. she teases senpai too but when nagatoro isnt around she's nice to him (well kind 0f this was shown in one episode but im not sure) bcs she has no reason since nagatoro isnt around.

art
the art is really memorable espicially ncs of the costume designs and character designs from noodle-toro (nagatoro with noodle arms) nekotoro (her in a sort of cat cosplay suit thingy) and the toro cats (giant costumes that looks like cats). the art in the intro is especially memorable because of all the colorful designs but nothing else triggers me than cg. you may ask why? am i bring this up randomly well because during the intro they use cg in the statues in the background.
