Review of Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro

This is surprisingly wholesome. I can understand why people would not enjoy Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san. The first couple of episodes can be very mean-spirited with Nagatoro just flat out bullying the male main character(Senpai) to the point of tears. However, it quickly turns into playful teasing and to romantic feelings. The animation is very good. The expressions in the characters , and mainly Nagatoro's face are really well drawn and funny. The wiggle arms will never be not funny. The opening song is a banger. And Nagatoro´s voice actress did an amazing job. It fit the character reallywell and definitely made amazing scenes with her delivery.

The relationship between the two main characters is what defines this anime. If you dont like their relationship, you dont like the show and I dont recommend it. I certainly enjoyed this more then I expected. They could easily turned Nagatoro into a generic tsundere character, and although she some of its traits, she´s a interesting, funny character. She is a glass cannon. Max ATK and 0 DEF. We see her becoming more interested in Senpai and her blush levels go up as the series goes on. And Senpai reveals a good character devlopment, starting from quiet, weak, art nerd virgin to a more assertive, confident chad. I didn't like the side characters that much at the beginning. They seemed annoying and selfish. But they turned out alright. In the possible second season, I would like to see more complex aspects of these characters that are hinted at in this season, and a possible backstory.

This was better then I expected to be. One of the most enjoyable anime these season. Its a wholesome experience. It seems that the more Twitter complains about a new anime, the better it is.

I rate it 7+, maybe 8 in the future.
