Review of The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil

This anime was hysterically cringe-worthy. On one hand, the animation and character designs were appealing (though definitely low-budget), the dialogue was cheesy and basic, but watching Lily and Akutsu desperately try to one up each other was very entertaining. The 'sweet' moments between the main couple were cute (though highly overdramatized). On the other hand, the story was a complete disaster. Character motivations wavered constantly, the soundtrack and opening theme lacked originality, there wasn't a single likeable side character, and the Demon's underworld was explored more then 'Heaven' where the Angles resided (many unanswered questions in regard to the female leads circumstances and upbringing), but the overallworld building was shallow and just made no sense. Most importantly, the random 'sadistic' nature of the Angles was very off putting, especially when said behaviour changed at the drop of a hat.

Granted this was a Comedy-Shoujo, not the series to watch if a viewer is looking for depth or a true-love story. However, it was a fun 'turn your brain off' type anime that viewers could sit back and enjoy.
