Review of Ya Boy Kongming!

HIDDEN GEM OF A LIFETIME wow what a ride this show was, Paripi Koumei has perhaps one of the most outlandish plots I've ever come across but my goodness they somehow manage to make it work. Was so engaged right from the start and I grew to absolutely adore each and every one of the characters. Eiko is such a fantastic co lead, she is realistic and charming and also so relatable thanks to her very accurately depicted struggle. The other supporting leads like Kabe and Nanami are also such incredibly enjoyable characters, once again with greatly portrayed struggles and issues that I think the showexplores really well. And of course, how could I not mention Our Boy Kongming, I don't think I've enjoyed a character this much in forever what an absolute delight he was to watch. Definitely a contender for the most swagged out anime character of all time, Eiko is the main character in my eyes despite the eponymous nature of the title but damn would this show not be anything near what it is without Kongming.

The music in this show SLAPS so hard, which is to be expected in a show about music but you can really feel the emotion in the songs which only aids in progressing the plot in a believable and immersive way, I especially loved the scenes with Kabe rapping because got damn kids got bars!!!! For real though, the songs in this anime are a real treat to listen to and I am absolutely smitten with the opening what an awesome break from the usual anime style.

Overall this show is an absolute must watch and frankly deserves all the attention in the world, I can only pray for a season 2 sometime in the future!
