Review of Fairy Tail
*Sighs*... It kinda sucks to have this in my page, because I just know that when the people see that I gave this a 7, they are going to rapidly assume none of my reviews are valid and I have shitty taste, and I obviously don’t like that . Why am I doing it then? Well, because I wouldn’t feel complete without putting a review out there of my first anime ever and why I loved it. And yes, at this point you’ve probably figured out the factor as to why I do , this very specific feeling that haunts the human soul... Nostalgia.I’ve watched fairy tail once only, when I was very much a kid, and the time I had watching this with my sister every friday night, and the feelings and places it drove me too; I wouldn’t change that for anything. Anything really. The vast magic world it’s set in, the likable characters and the creativity within the concept of magic in this show... (magic could be anything, from keys that summon spirits from the zodiac to making anything out of ice). This, that when I was little was the best thing ever, may be fairy tail’s biggest flaw; the battles, magic system, world building... Nothing really makes that much sense. But it did makes sense to me, along with its objectively fantastic soundtrack, decent animation, and characters I fell in love with and I still hold deer to my heart.
That is why, even if I revisited it recently (not rewacthed it entirely, as I said I’ve only truly seen it once, but got back into it and watched parts of it) and saw all of its flaws, and had to make up a perfect version of it in my head to fix its main problems, therefore realizing that if I watched this show now, I would love it more for what it could’ve been than what it actually is, even so, I am incapable of giving this show less than a seven. I am talking about the whole show btw, even if this is just the first season. Anyways, all I have to say is that despite all of its flaws, it is undeniable that a big amount of love from the author was first poured from his heart into this show, and for that alone, I think it’s worth checking out, because who knows, maybe you’ll fall in love with it like I did. This said though, the fact that it goes downhill and some aspects aren’t even well written from the start is prevalent to me, so don’t go in expecting some masterpiece, more so just expect to have a good time. I’m not really that good with words, so if you’re actually debating whether to watch it, please go watch Nux Taku’s (on YouTube) video on it, because it somehow perfectly sums up my thoughts on this show and why it’s partially good. So yeah, that’s all I have to say. This was more of a rant than a review, but I hope this was helpful and you’ll eventually come around this show to see if you like it.
