Review of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
A while ago I watched a series called School Days; that was more than 6 months ago. After that, I started watching TV shows like Supernatural, House MD, Lost, etc. TMoHS has been, since I saw the first season, one of my favorite shows. And now that this movie finally came out, I had to watch it. I loved how they gave it a nostalgic feeling, with Haruhi not being in the main cast, and the usage of the main theme-song from the series, in the beginning. The whole atmosphere of the movie reminded me a little of Makoto Shinkai's works. One of the few things thatupset me,though was that it was more about "the Yuk". Honestly, one of the reasons I loved this show so much was because of it's main character; the rest of the cast (except Kyon) didn't really appeal to me.
Although the runtime was over two and a half hours, I didn't get bored for even one minute, only pausing twice to go to the bathroom. Usually when I watch such long movies, I get sleepy, and start pausing hundreds of times; that was not the case here.
I started watching this film, with very high expectations, seeing as it's ranked fifth in MAL's top, and I wasn't disappointed at all. I only hope to see more Haruhi in the next movie or series that will, hopefully, follow.
