Review of Ghost Hunt
This anime is the most unique one of all the animes I have seen so far. The story is divided up into files. Each file takes about 2~4 episodes and they all differ in terms of the nature of the hauntings and type of spirits. The pacing of the story is slow but it still grabs my attention. I still want to know more, I want to know what the team is dealing with and how they are going to get rid of the spirits that is haunting the particular person(s) or group. The main thing that is odd about this showis the timing and occurrence of the light-hearted moments. There are times when the scene is really tense and is suspenseful and then all of a sudden the characters go into comedic facial gestures and verbal sparring. Sometimes, it ruins the moment but it is forgivable.
What I really credit this show is that it steers away from the religious biases between the different type of exorcists. There is a Catholic priest, a Shinto Priestess, a Buddist Priest, and a spiritual medium. Of course, it is for the show that they do this but still, there is no religious conflict between them. I like that.
The characters start out cold but then they warm up to each other and become like family.
