Review of Den-noh Coil
(Disclaimer: Enjoyment not included in the Overall rating.) I had watched this without any idea what is it about. Oh, it's about kids accessing the internet via eyeglasses? Cool. Oh, they also have these virtual pets? Neat, just like Pokemon or Digimon. Oh, they could use data bits to trade for meta commands (metatags) that could be used as spells when there's a PvP ongoing? Just like an MMORPG with VR! Oh, the pets and metatags can actually assist these kids in accessing hidden parts of the web? Wait, is this still the kids' anime that I'm watching? Actually, it is. Thus, the intrigue from thisrather underrated (I could be wrong) anime starts to escalate. I thought it was fun and bizarre, but didn't thought it could also be thrilling. What I wonder though is that how come this is so under-the-radar when kids nowadays are getting accustomed to the internet at a young age, similar to the characters in this series. Perhaps because the artwork is not moe enough? Or because the ambiance look dated? Hmm...
Would have rewatched this series more had my copy didn't swam with the fishes during a storm. I guess, I better find other ways then. Before Satchi even figures out what I'm about to do.
