Woah... Warning:This is my subjective opinion, and I am in no way a professional reviewer. It's fine if you have a different view on this anime, i'm just gonna splurge my feelings about it here, where it's the most convenient place to do so. Hyouka was a very short-lived, pleasant yet hard to get your grip on show. Seriously, it did have the more-than-usual for SoL anime episode amount, it still felt confusing on what the length of the show should've really been. This was one of those anime that I always put aside instead of binging. I once binged multiple seasons of a show 17-hours straight, but Hyouka isn't oneof those for me.
It's a very nice, not really but kind of warm experience.
It's friendly and intriguing, yet like Toradora couldn't get a grip with me at first, this anime didn't grip me at all.
It was interesting, and I kept returning to it, but it was more of a "sunday evening" scenario where you have nothing else to do.
It's really interesting and friendly, but it doesn't have the grip for me.

Hyouka actually managed to lure me in.
Seriously, the characters are fun and varied.
They're the usual friend group that you see in SoLs all the time, but every one of them had their spice that mixed in well with the dynamic of the group.
If I wouldn't have looked at the genres and the description of the anime, then I probably would have never seen the mystery element of it coming.
It's so subtle yet so obvious.
It naturally co-exists with the way that the anime presents the Slice of Life genre, that it's almost scary.
I usually don't watch mystery by myself, but gee did this anime manage to deliver more than needed from that genre.
Sure, the Holmes series, or some other anime might involve mystery in a more interesting way, maybe focus on it more.
But what I loved about Hyouka, is how well it integrated the mystery genre into the whole pot.

Quicc reminder:
This is my subjective opinion.

Although I do have to admit, the way that the anime ended was kinda like hitting a wall at 50km/h, all whilst looking to the side, not noticing the wall that you're about to hit.
Seriously, the 22 episode count is so specific, that every single second of the anime that I watched, I thought to myself:"Huh, 24 episodes, I still have some time left."
But the ending itself wasn't bad nor good.
It kind-of left things at a dead stop for a while and it kinda gives off the vibe that it's almost encouraging you to continue the story by yourself.

TL;DR
The anime was very interesting, and managed to integrate the mystery genre in to the aesthetic of Slice of Life very well. It was hard to get a grip with it, and it still is, but I genuinely enjoyed watching it as a "sunday evening" time waster.

I recommend this anime.
Thank you for your time.
