Review of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day

Childhood is something that filled with bliss and happiness, but what happen if you lost your friend when you still a little child? Ano Hana tells about Jintan, who can see the ghost of his childhood friend, Henma. But now, he and all of his childhood friends has changed. They're not same as before, when they still playing together, grief together, smile and laugh together. Jintan try to unite his friends and together make their friendship back . The story itself is pretty usual, nothing really special about the plot but I really like the way they present it. It's really unique the story is really naturaland represent the meaning of life is, there's no forced conflicts and that what I like in here. The story is flows, but it grows in you. And watching this makes you feel that you have become the "actor" in the story than the viewer, and it just makes you feeling like back to your childhood life.

The art is great, I love that lighting. And also, the OP and ED is nice. Overall, the art and sound is good and fit to the story.

Ah, now characters, part that I really like in here. When everyone is developed and well.. changed. Jintan become more "open" and have more brighten view of the future. Yukiatsu become more straightforward to himself and others, and from what I see, he is the character who changed more than other. He seems to be more happier. Anjou has throw away her jealously and more admiring others. Poppo has become more straightforward. He can more "open" to his feelings to others and of course.. Menma.

Ano Hana is of course, not an ordinary anime. It's a true masterpiece. It's not easy to find a slice of life anime that has a beautiful drama in it. It gives you hearwarming feels, but gives you sad story as well.
