Review of School Days

If i judge this series by the first few episodes, it would probably get a much higher score. School Days is one of those series that starts out good, but ends dreadfully. Story (5) : At first School Days seemed like just a normal love story anime. It's about a guy who had a secret crush with some girl. And then, his friend decided to introduce both of them to each other. But turns out that the friend actually has some feelings for the guy. After that things get complicated. As i have mentioned before, School Days does not end pretty well. It has that shocking elementwith an unexpected events. Considering how the story went, i do feel like something like that ending was coming. But i don't think that ending would solve anything between them and it left everything in a cliffhanger, so i couldn't help it but to feel emotionally unfulfilled.

Art (7) :

The art wasn't pretty bad, in fact i thought that it was actually good.

Sound (7) :

Nothing to comment here. Overally the voice actors suits the characters pretty well and i somewhat enjoyed the opening song.

Characters (5) :

School Days could've made a great story-line if it weren't for their lack development of characters. By that, it doesn't mean that the characters didn't had any development.

In my opinion, it was because of the slow-way of thinking by most of the characters. This way of story-line was very frustrating, and boring.

I was like, Why didn't she just tell the truth? why didn't he realize it when it was that obvious? It felt like if the characters wasn't such a dumbass, and would've just THINK, everything could have been avoided.

Sometimes they say it's best to ignore this kind of parts and to suspend disbelief for the sake of enjoyment. But school days took to much of that liberty and ended up having a bad story-line and an awful character development.

Let's just say that School Days disappointed me.

Admittedly School Days is a fine anime. For those of you who are a fan deep story-line romance anime, School Days is probably not the best show for you.
Despite that, if you are willing, i think that it's still worth a try.
