Story 8/10 A story of a war for the holy grail which will be fought by seven masters which are able to summon a powerful servant from the past these servants range from Alexander the Great to King Arthur which each having different weapons and abilities. This season covers the beginning of the war and features some of the early battles and introduces us to the world and characters showing off a mix of action and drama with a bit of intrigue. Art 9/10 This has a great art style it looks really excellent with brilliant depictions of the world and characters with some of the battles scenes inparticular being really special.

Sound 8/10

Excellent music and sound with some really good voice acting.

Characters 9/10

Some really excellent characters here with both the servants and masters having some highlights in regards to characters from Saber the virtuous knight acting as a servant for the brilliant assassin Kiritsugu Emiya to the absolutely insane duo of mass murderers in Ryusuke Uryuu and his servant Caster.

Other interesting characters are the servant Rider who in life was Alexander the Great, the servant Lancer who has a friendly rivalry with Saber, Gilgamesh the archer servant who is very arrogant but also clearly powerful and finally Kirei Kotomine a mysterious member of the church who summons the assassin servant but is not supposed to win the war himself but to help another.

Enjoyment 8/10

The early going was a little slow but does a good job setting up the story when the war starts this is all action with plenty of drama and tension and I liked also the intelligence and intrigue involved.

Overall 8/10
