Review of Black Clover

Just finished watching all of Black Clover and holy sh*t what a ride it was. First off I am going to admit that I was one of those people who started watching it in when it came out but did not make it past 15 episodes because of all the flaws it had back then. Now after picking it up many years later I can say with 100% confidence it was worth to watch through the whole series and I am now a Black Clover fanboy. Story 10: The story is good for a shounen. Many might compare it a lot to other shows but I can sayit is very different. This is not your averege "Naruto copy for a quick buck" show, it is so much more. There are many plot twists that were actually unexpected and it has good worldbuilding. The pacing of the show is also great. Major fight scenes do not feel like they last too long and you always feel like the story is moving forward. The fillers were also the most enjoyable I have watched from any series.

Art 8:
The art is pretty good. While it might be lacking (especially one certain cgi running animation) sometimes there are some big fight scenes that were absolutely gorgeus and did not disappoint at all. It also never feels like you are just staring at a single piece of drawing like in other shows.

Sound 9:
Every single OP is an absolute banger that suits the ongoing arc very well. Some of the ED's also really give you the "episode ending feel" that they should. The sound design and ost are good and it was never off putting for me.

Character 10:
This show has some of my absolute favorite characters from any series I have ever watched. From lovable heroes to heartless villains to useless comedic relief characters there is a mix of everything here. The core cast is amazing with everyone mixing well together with eacothers personalities. Not a single one of the side characters is just a uselss side character for the sake of having a side character (if that makes sense). All characters have some form of depth to them and many show up later on after their related story arc is already over. The show also provides with top tier character development from the beginning right to the end.

Enjoyment 10:
While I might have not enjoyed it my girst time watching it has now been my #1 enjoyment these last few weeks. My enjoyment kept going up with every new story arc and i can not remember if I have every been as hyped as I was when I was watching the last 10 episodes. The show is also very funny and some scenes actually made me laugh out loud. It was also truly enjoyable reading the comments after each episode on Crunchyroll.

Overall 10:
This has now become one of my favorite shows ever that is up there with Naruto Shippuuden, FMAB, Overlord, JoJo and HxH. A great watch with a somewhat slow start for anyone who likes comdedic shounen with awesome fight scenes.
