As the sequel to Seven Deadly Sins, an anime which I loved, I went into this one with high expectations. But does it live up to the first season? Story (4/10) The story in the first season wasn't amazing, but it was certainly good. This time around though, not so much. There's a synopsis available, so I won't give one here. But I will say that it was too slow and very basic, quite disappointing in comparison to the original. Art (6/10) It was alright, it never looked bad, but it also never looked particularly great, character designs were pretty good, everything else was quite basic, same as lastseason.

Sound (6/10)
Most of the voice acting is pretty good, King and Elizabeth could be annoying at times, but my god, Hawk is just as annoying this time around as the first time. You'd think after being in so many episodes he would at least become more tolerable, but I just can't get used to that damn voice. On the music side of things, it's a step-down from the original, not much to say about it really.

Characters (10/10)
As usual, SDS is carried by its characters. The Sins are all pretty much the same, Ban and Meliodas are just as great as last time, I enjoyed King and Diane more this time and the supporting cast is still quite solid. I was really hoping for Merlin to improve as a character, but unfortunately, she's still lacking in real character development and she's more of a plot device than a character and she just doesn't really fit in with the rest of the sins at all. However, this is made up for by the addition of the Lion's sin of Pride, Escanor. I fucking love Escanor. Escanor is amazing, I don't want to spoil anything about him, since his reveal is probably the best part of this entire anime, but trust me, he alone makes this sequel worth watching.

The main antagonists are the 10 commandments. Most of them were pretty good, but a couple of them seemed to only exist to pretend to be powerful, and then be defeated a couple of episodes later. Overall though, the cast makes this show worth watching.

Enjoyment (7/10)
Even if the story was kinda bad I still enjoyed watching this anime for the most part, and once the plot finally really picks up it's quite enjoyable. The characters are great and the story has it's moments. As such purely in terms of enjoy-ability, this anime is pretty good.

Overall, SDS2 is inferior to the original in most ways, but it's still very enjoyable and the cast alone is enough to make it worth watching. I'm feeling a decent to strong 7 on this anime.
