Review of ReLIFE
In my opinion, this review contains minor spoilers, do read with that in mind. Also, I didn't read the Manga which apparently existed, so this review will be based on the Anime only. For starters, I have to say, this was a series that hit really close to home. Although I didn't end up like any of the characters, but it really makes me feel my age (despite only 24, which is at least 3 years younger than main characters). As for artwork: I don't think it was really beautiful like Shinkai Makoto's work, but it was really close to real life. There's a clear reasonwhy I made this comparison, you will know why when you run through it.
As for animation: There was hardly anything to say about animation. However, the image impression and how everything moved at important scenes was really well matched with the scene.
Which should be why I give Art and Animation another 10.
For story line,
As I mentioned above, it hits close to home. Although I didn't have problems with finding a job, and never fell that hard, it hits really close to home. Although I can't quite express how that is, I can say overall story line hits me right the spot it hurts the most.
I am also the kind to predict how the story is going to come out to be, so I had predictions through out this series like usual too. However, I was greeted with surprises for almost all episodes. First, I didn't predict the plot to go with "rehabilitation program" but something more like somehow go back to highschool life. Then later episodes give me some surprises too as my prediction gets up turned every time.
While portraying a great school life with fun and laughter, story line still stick with the gloomier part of the plot and keeps reminding both characters and audiences. But then still make you forget, or at least realize it.
Lastly, as for the end, although my predictions for earlier parts were all wrong and upturned, my prediction of the end was spot on. All I can say is that it's not anything like Shinkai Makoto at all.
For Sound and Music, I realize almost right away that the music tracks are 2000s and 1990s music. It really fits main character as he was 27. A great attention to details, I would say.
Overall, this was a good series I highly recommend it to anyone who is working in their first 5 years or are having trouble at work or finding one.
P/S:
I'm not used to writing anything but argument about history so you might find it hard to understand. That's why I hardly write any reviews. But this one series made me want to spend 1 hour to write this review, even though it was late. From that, I suppose you can say how good this series is.
