Gomen ne Hatsukoi · review
Certified shoujo trash. I was trying to pull an all nighter for certain reasons and decided to read a random manga and by god's grace, my eye fell on this shit. It did help me stay awake for the rest of the night though, by how enraging reading it was. Firstly about the story and honestly it would be a lie if I said the story is non existent, but it is similar to that of thousands of others on the planet. Plot is so badly thought of or not even thought of actually. Just the usual heavily processed story with a different set of cardboardcutout characters. The story was progressing in a nonsensical way. Badly paced as well, felt hella rushed throughout. Toss in any other criticism for any other shoujo and it would probably be applicable to this one as well.
Now it's not like I don't know what to expect from these low quality shoujos, I've danced with the devil long enough for that. Rather I usually put my money on choosing the ships and I chose the childhood friend ship this time, and my reason for annoyance should be pretty obvious by now. The author was really thirsty for that "no childhood friend romance" ending. Felt very pushy, again the reason being not enough of a sense being made due to bad development, whether it be story or character.
I can sense the ending being near, I even thought that the last chapter which I read was the ending. But nonetheless, the ending most likely will be in the next few chapters because the usual lifespan of these mangas are below 20 chapters.
