[Non-Spoiler Review] Kakushigoto is every bit heart-warming as it is bittersweet. It's wholesome, funny, has the ability to make you cry, and it's likely you won't find a female character as adorable as Hime. This is another anime I found randomly and turned out to be an absolute gem. The cover of Kakushigoto drew me in as well as the description, and the first episode pretty much set it in stone. I enjoyed every minute of it. Goto, as the MC and Hime's father, is funny, overprotective, well-written and a really good dad to Hime. Who wouldn't be, when your daughter is that cute and anabsolute angel. The wholesomeness of Kakushigoto will probably make me want to watch this again, and might end up becoming one of my comfort animes.

There is a plot though, so it's not just filler episode after filler episode. Though even the fillers are really fun to watch and don't feel like a waste of time. I liked that I couldn't predict anything that was going to happen and it was pretty fun seeing the job side of how a manga is made, though I'm aware it's not entirely accurate.

All the characters add to the story and play a part in either Goto or Hime's life. The character design is quite simplistic but it really suits the tone of the anime. It just works. For what it is, Kakushigoto excelled in its art for the story it was trying to tell, not to mention the OP is one of my favourite OP's. Toumarin lowkey riled me up, even if he did serve as a comedy device.

Though wholesome at heart, you'd be surprised to find out you might end up crying in certain parts. Kakushigoto has some darker elements that, although aren't totally brushed over, fall into the background because the thought of it is already depressing, actually covering it might just break everyone's hearts a little. There's a serious undertone that is easy to spot, but isn't at the centre of the story. The focus is on Goto making sure Hime is happy, healthy and well-cared for at all times. And that's what I love about it.

I totally recommend this anime, whether you're a fan of Slice of Life or comedy, it has its fair share of both in every episode. A really easy watch and I'll most likely be back to watch it all over again.
