NOTE : **** Contains massive spoilers **** Gosh, where do I start? Just when i was enjoying Alicization, they had to pull a classic SAO move. Ah shit, here we go again, some nice tying practice. This is my first in detail review of an anime. I have been watching anime for the past 8 years or so. I'll start off with what I liked to set a good foot with all the people who loved it I guess. 1) Love the character Art. 2) Emotions are very well represented (although it does get a bit too much at times) 3) A decent amount of scenes give me chills ina good way.
4) I see a lot of people hating on the fights, but i love them for what they are.
5) Wide variety of characters are "displayed".
6) Character Development is good for the most part.
(there are a lot of more pros but these are the ones which stand out at the top of my mid)

Now for the bads... I tried to be as open minded as possible while watching the series, I am no hardcore fanboy of the series nor do I hate it, so there is no biasing, I may have not understood some concepts or underlying stuff but anyway this is my review on this part of the arc.

1) I am appalled at how badly the story is written.
I know many haters point this out and a lot of supporters say that Reki has improved his writing or whatever. A lot of other people say he just wrote the novel and the animation director is different, I am not going to put the blame on a certain individual but for the whole anime makers in general in my perspective and opinion.
They just dump nonsensical information at you to cover up some of the plot holes. This was the case in Alicization too but atleast it was bearable, this? no way.

2) HAREM. One of the most cringe , if not the most for me atleast was the harem.
I mean I GET IT, there are a lot of people who enjoy the harem? I guess? i would never understand it but sure whatever but Atleast reduce the amount, holy shit.
Its like every female who sees Kirito loses all her self esteem, self respect and whatever and starts to love him for helping them in some way. Its so fucking weird.

3) Aren't Asuna and Kirito married? You could bring up that it was just inside the game. I could come back at you with the MAIN plot revolving around "Its not just a VRMMO game, its an alternate life, everyone's second chance" (Insert more of Liz's speech to people in the game to help Kirito in an another game).
Its fucking creepy how Kirito also flirts and shit with the other girls, Sinon kisses him in front of Asuna and shit like that. Like wtf.
I believe a lot of people get influenced by anime, especially younger viewers, as did I. And portraying these kinda bullshit to them is unacceptable imo.

4) Literal Characters consistency is weird as shit.
Random Characters just come in from nowhere without any apparent reason to fill a supposed plot hole or to extend the plot.
Prime example is Eiji and Yuna. It gave me a headache to even remember who they were, and on top of that they literally achieved NOTHING, other than extend the time of the episode and give some mediocre fight animation. There's many more examples which make no sense.

5) Damsels in Distress.
All the female characters are literally hopeless and powerless whenever Kirito-kun isn't present and a moderately stronger character appears. This would NOT be problem if they whole anime portrayed them this way since the start but that isn't the case is it?
Asuna, Sinon, Leafa(oh lets get to her part in the next point), etc are showing literally rampaging through hordes of enemies, but when it comes to fighting a certain PoH, They all are helpless. Until Yuki comes into Asuna's memories and is like "You got this girl! GO for it!" Asuna is just like fuck it, u can kick the disables Kirito and slash him up too, I don't mind! I will just pretend that I'm crying over here. Anyway You get my point, this happens with a lot more characters but I mentioned Asuna because she is SENKO (The lighting flash) or whatever.
Alice is so high and mighty but because of half a night with kirito, she completely changes, defeats her own boss, wants to know more about kirito, wants to have babies with him at the same time care for him like he is her son. OKAY THEN. Alright lets stick to this particular series, her emotions are everywhere for an AI, she feels bad casting that huge fireball at millions and doubts a lot of things, next scene when t he head of wolf like ogres comes and begs that she goes with him so that his family can like in the plains or whatever, she just annihilates him. After an episode she is simping for Kirito again forgetting she has pride and self esteem and starts fighting with asuna over who gets to say "My Kirito". Cringe as fuck.

6) SAO finally a hentai?
SO Reki apologizes for how the voice actors had to act for the scene in alicization but he's(or the animation) back at it again?
Leafa's tentacle scene made me really uncomfortable. She's so helpless and stuff but the next moment she's OP as fuck. All that time waiting for the pig guy to do something cool, he breaks his seal and something so underwhelming happens, like wtf? whats the point of all of it then? We already KNOW that the mage head is baaad, no morals and ethics, she kills thousands of his men. WE GET IT , SHE BAD! you don't need a tentacle scene to express that more and just for the pig to fail again!

7) Unexplained plots and powers.
It seems like every real-worlder in the underworld can just imagine random powers and get them like its nothing behind a weak ass half baked story. Especially True with the enemies. Makes no sense what PoH and his captain can do. Dark Lord? Okay I can get behind that, superuser account, broken stats, etc. so he is OP literally. But after those characters are dead they login with their actual accounts, and STILL become twice as OP? that makes no sense. while all the other people who converted their accounts had only the same powers they had in the other games. Villains apparently get way more, or at least the reason isn't explained.
Asuna casts one spell as a super user to modify the terrain slightly and she faints almsot but these two villans gather souls and manipulate skies and whatnot but nothing happens to them, even if u take that bs story of "fluctlights are under stress coz its unstable" crap.

There's so many more fucked up stuff I can go on and on lol.
I know it does come across as I'm raging and just wanting to hate and shit on the series, but honestly I was so hyped when I was starting this, giving SAO another chance. Alicization stood up to it somewhat but they totally backtracked and did what SAO writers are best at doing "War of the Underworld" utter bullshit. I noticed that I kept feeling like I was waiting for something to happen every episode but nothing did. I really tried to be open minded but I just kept drawing blanks and facepalming.

PS: Please Stop with the harem and more of plot and fight scenes, Asuna is enough! where can we start a petition?
